So far we have done 3 SIM labs with our groups and we are doing another one on monday. Our group I feel like is a pretty solid match so I am happy that they were put together using indego because our brains match really well and fill in blanks that maybe other people didn't get. Our professionalism with our group outside the lab is great. We get all of our things done and they are all well thought through. In the lab we are mostly professional while dealing with our patient but there are a lot of times where you just have to laugh at things. Such as a arm falling off and dragging on the ground, to having to deal with our patient throwing up and passing out then having to take the rectal temperature of a dummy. I want my parents to know the "why" of why i'm here. I think that if they were to be a fly on the wall they would love the environment in the classroom, lab, and sim lab room. The skills that i have learned have been CPR, vital signs, heat illness, taping of the ankle, arch, and thumb, how to make a ice bag, how to check pupils, first aid response training, packing a wound, experience in Cerner, how to apply a tourniquet and more. I know in my future i want to do something in the medical field but i am not sure what yet. But i do know that all of these skills could potentially put me farther and farther then some other people because i have already acquired the information. My why for why im here is to find my why for the next 4-8 years. I want to know what i want to do in the professional field and i want to do it well. I want to learn things now that will help me determine what i want to do when it comes the time to decide.
